Procedure :
1. hire an architect or designer to draw a picture
2. submit application to the local government
3. start construction after approval
4. renovation stuff must be clean
5. Unit checked by government staff
City council will collect deposit and application fees from the owner, part of deposit will refundable after construction completed.
If the house is renovated without permission,once be found, city council will be issued the warning letter and the building will ordered to be dismantled Or will be fine up to Rm 25,000.
However, if you purchase a townhouse belonging to the strata title, you must obtain management’s consent in addition to applying for a permit from the local government.
Building owners who have built their structures illegally on government land have been advised to approach Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and the Federal Territories Ministry Or local government to seek an amicable solution.
